Tadka Style Urad Dal

Ingredients:
Urad dal, 200 g, pressure boiled for 3-4 whistles (washed and soaked in water for about 2 hrs)
3 finely sliced tomatoes
2 finely chopped onions
two garlic cloves
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
1 tsp chile powder (red)
½ tablespoons coriander powder
season with salt to taste
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
1 ½ tablespoons ghee
Instructions
Add 1 ½ tbsp ghee to a pan and cook for a few minutes.
In a large pan, combine the cumin seeds, red chilies, turmeric powder, garlic, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. At a low temperature, sauté it for about 2 minutes.
Add the onion and tomatoes and cook for another 3 minutes.
Mix in the urad dal and the remaining ingredients.
Allow it to boil on low heat for about 5 minutes.
Remove it from the heat and place it in a serving bowl.
Serve with paratha or rice while hot.
